AI Use & Disclosure
Effective September 20, 2026
Sanctified Code™: Discerning AI is built around a simple principle: AI assists. You discern. You decide. This page explains where AI is involved, where it is not, and what users should understand before using their profile with another AI system.
What the app does
Discern & Define asks you structured questions about your vocation, communities, theological or interpretive commitments, research expectations, divine-language preferences, voice, ethical boundaries, and preferred way of working with AI. Your answers are translated into a reusable AI Discernment Profile.
How the profile is generated
The current profile generator is rule-based. It combines your answers with carefully written instruction modules and platform guidance. It does not call a generative AI model to interpret your identity or write the profile for you.
Where generative AI enters the process
Generative AI enters when you choose to place the resulting profile into an external AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another service. From that point forward, the external platform’s technology and policies govern its responses and data handling.
Human discernment remains primary
An AI assistant can support research, organization, editing, brainstorming, administration, and other appropriate tasks. It should not become the final authority for theological claims, pastoral judgment, spiritual direction, confidential care, academic integrity, or other responsibilities that require accountable human decision-making.
Truthfulness and verification
AI systems can produce incorrect information, invented quotations, false citations, biased interpretations, or confident claims that cannot be verified. Users should source important claims, test interpretations, observe bias, and make the final decision.
Confidentiality
Do not place identifiable pastoral-care, counseling, medical, confessional, personnel, student, patient, client, or similarly sensitive information into this app or an external AI system unless an authorized, lawful, and institutionally approved process specifically permits it.
Disclosure in ministry, scholarship, and professional work
When AI materially assists work that will be preached, published, graded, submitted, presented, or used in professional practice, follow the disclosure and attribution expectations of your institution, publisher, denomination, congregation, school, employer, or professional field. When no policy exists, choose transparency that accurately describes the role AI actually played.
What the profile does not guarantee
A personalization profile can guide an AI assistant, but it cannot guarantee compliance, accuracy, cultural competence, theological agreement, confidentiality, or freedom from bias. Keep reviewing the output and keep the human in authority.
